Privacy Policy
Garden is a devotional journaling game. This policy explains the information Garden needs to operate and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We store your email address and authentication-provider account identifier; username; garden state and progress; journal entries, including fetched scripture text and devotional evidence photos you choose to submit; friendship, referral, blocking, devotional-like, nudge, garden-visit, friend-activity, and acorn-gift records; garden preview images; reports you submit; and outgoing friend-request times used to prevent abuse. Clerk and Convex may process limited authentication and security events, including event times and technical information such as IP address. The app also keeps a local garden copy and recently rendered previews for offline and faster display.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, save and synchronize your garden, calculate game progress, provide journaling and friend features, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and maintain the service.
What friends can see
Accepted friends can see your username, garden preview, garden layout, garden stats, whether you logged a devotional, and only the devotional content you explicitly marked as shared. A shared photo devotional includes its photo preview, title, optional reflection, and tag. Friends can like shared devotionals, send nudges and acorn gifts, and may see that you visited their garden unless you turn off visit visibility. Photo devotionals left private and your full journal are not shown to friends.
Service providers
Garden uses Clerk for authentication and email verification; Convex for database functions, real-time synchronization, and file storage; Expo infrastructure for building and delivering the app; and bible-api.com to retrieve World English Bible text. If you choose social sign-in, Apple or Google also processes that sign-in.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account in Settings. Deletion removes your authentication account and associated Garden data. Limited security logs and reports about a deleted account may remain without an active account identifier when needed to protect the service or meet provider retention requirements.
Security and choices
On native devices, Garden stores authentication tokens in platform-secure storage. Server data uses access controls, but no system is completely secure. You may manage connected sign-in methods with the provider, block users, export your data, or delete your account from Settings.
Children
Garden is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can remove it.
